Kaitlyn's filmmaking journey began when she co-wrote, co-produced, and co-starred in her first short film, Willow, with her sister Jackie Diehl, which completed its festival circuit run in the Spring of 2025. It was accepted into twelve film festivals (a 50% acceptance rate) and won the Audience Choice award at the Media Film Festival.
Kaitlyn immediately got the filmmaking bug and went on to co-produce two more ambitious projects: TINO (feature film) and Stand Up (short film). She also directed her first short, The Traveler. All projects are currently making their way through the 2026 film festival circuit.
In the meantime, Kaitlyn is in pre-production for the first feature film she will direct, in collaboration with her sister and fellow filmmaker, Jackie Diehl.
Kaitlyn is currently interested in telling gritty stories about real people—especially finding God in dark places. Stay tuned!
